Dutch philanthropist from Holland recently donated educational materials worth over 3, 000 Euros, as well as a cash amount of D10, 000 to Pakaliba Basic Cycle School during a presentation ceremony held at the school grounds in Jarra District of the Lower River Region (LRR). The donated items included books and uniforms, among others.
Speaking at the presentation, Musa Sanneh, the principal of Pakaliba Basic Cycle School, commended Harriette and her husband for the donation. He noted that the donation will go a long way in complementing the efforts of government in achieving quality education in the country. Highlighting some of their constraints, Sanneh said that water and electricity is a major challenge faced by his school. He called others to emulate the donors so as to help his school achieve its goals.
For her part, Harriette Banbelsum assured the school administration of her continuous support. She also thanked her friends in Holland and DHL for their support and contribution towards the donation to the school.
Ebrima F Darboe, Harriette’s husband urged the beneficiaries to make best use of the donation. He also assured them that the donation is just the beginning, saying that many more is on the pipeline as the consignment has been already shipped.
